[Answered] need to change prompt on the registration code field

Postby sprice » Mon Apr 18, 2011 3:52 pm

In our company, we want users to enter their supervisor's email address during registration so that the supervisor can approve the users involvement in courses, and so that the supervisor can act as the parent to make sure the user completes the coursework with a satisfactory comprehension of the material.  Is it possible to change the prompt for 'code' to 'supervisor email' on the registration page?

Everything's possible. If you

Everything's possible. If you *just* want to change the label, go into the main/lang/english/ directory, look for the term you would like to replace and replace it.

If you want the feature to expressely allow the system to link a user wt a HH director (a user role available in Chamilo for tracking purposes), then this would definitely require a little development, which you can either assume in-house (if you have a PHP developer at hand) or delegate to one of Chamilo's official providers (you can find them under the "Support" tab on this website). Either way, it would be nice to contribute the change once you've made it. It's as easy as sending the code modified to info@chamilo.org.

Note that you can also redefine the language term through the sub-language feature, but it's still a little tricky (new feature) and there's not much documentation about it. Try to find more loking into the sub-language options in the administration settings, then into the double arrow in the list of languages (from the main admin panel, "Languages" entry).
