Help with Nanogong voice recorder

Postby stephanibus » Sat Jun 09, 2012 7:32 pm

I've enabled the Nanogong voice recorder to work - it records well and will save fine to my hard disc, but I get the following error when attempting to "send" the recording:

nanogongerror.jpg
Nanogong error

I'm not clear where this is to be sent - I'm assuming it would appear as a sound file in the documents folder.

Should this be reported as a bug, or have I misunderstood how this function works (could it be a server issue?)

Thanks for any advice,

Steve

Hi,

I know this is mot really an answer, but could you give the way you did that (like step-by-step basis) so we can try to do the same, replicate the issue and be able maybe to help to find a solution?

Thanks in advance (assuming 1.8.8.4 as Chamilo version).

Yes - I'm currently running 1.8.8.4 on a linux host using Apache 2.2.16 MySQL 5.0.91 and php 5.2.9. As far as I can see, the installation works extremely well.
I've faced the exactly same error message running an installation on a local WAMP package (Easy PHP 5.3.9) on my laptop.

I've activated the recorder via the "modules" section of the configuration settings in the administration area. I've then entered a course (as "teacher") and opened the "documents" screen, and clicked on the "record my voice" icon. The nanogong applet runs well, and the recorded file is easily saved. However, when I click the "send" button, although a progress window appears to show a successful execution of the process, the following error message is displayed:

I hope this is clear enough to allow you to replicate the process.

Many thanks,

Steve

I notice from other posts that Nanogong is being developed in 1.9, so can can wait for the 1.9 release to see if it resolves this issue. Thanks for the response, anyway.

Hi Steve,

If you like, you can test it in the 1.9.0 release for tests at http://chamilodev.beeznest.com - admin - admin

It works :D

It works, indeed! :)

Thanks again, Alain!

This was my first look at 1.9 - I'm impressed. Delighted to see a "tests" option allowing audio input for questions.

Cheers
