Error installing chamilo 2.1 aldrin

Hi, I just wanted to start with chamilo, i have:
php 5.3.10
apache 2.2
Windows XP Service Pack 3

The installation could not be completed, there is an error about "Rigths"

It says

"Registering the application

Rights
LocationsFailed
Installation of the application failed
Platform installation failed"

I can't help you to solve your problem as I don't know what's causing it, but we have also noticed some problems and strange behaviour when running chamilo 2.0 on a windows pc.

I have no idea what is causing this. We don't have any problems on our ubuntu pc's and debian servers. Some other developers are developing on Mac and Windows and haven't reported any problems either, but my colleague had some things not functioning properly on windows too.

The only thing I can recommend for the moment is you running it on a lamp-setup

I have the same situation with version 2 on this install: Windows Svr 2008; Apache 2.2; Mysql 5.5; PHP 5.3

It appears there are still unfinished code pieces lurking as i have found references in the http logs to images that have changed names, and in the db log there are some errors that seem to be ultimately holding this install up. In addition, I had other errors getting Mysql to work before i got to this point in the install. The lesson here seems to be use *nix or ver 1.8. I decided to try 1.8 and it installed no problem the first time.

There is this SQL error (in mdb2_errors.log):
[Message: MDB2 Error: unknown error] [Information: _doQuery: [Error message: Could not execute statement]

Some installation tips you can try:

• I recommend installing Chamilo 2.1 with the antivirus temporarily disabled
• Set the PHP "max_execution_time" parameter higher than default! With older hardware there's a big chance the installation script stops before the installation is finished!
• Set the PHP "display_errors" parameter to On, maybe you get interesting error information

I'm running Chamilo 2.1 on Windows with the WAMP software:

If you want to try this software, use the latest version (with PHP 5.3.10), older versions have some problems too.
