Hi,

I've successfully installed Chamilo 2.1 and so far I'm pretty impressed.

Unfortunately, users seem to be unable to create courses without platform admin permissions. It's only then that the "Course Management" section is shown in the sidebar on the courses page. A user with a "Course Manager" status is able to manage courses, but not create one.

So far I've also checked the repository > create pages and played with the web services > courses rights. All without success unfortunately.

Is it possible to give a user course creation permissions? If so, How do I do that?

Hi,

in the 2.0 this was possible through the course types: you could determine for each course type which users or group of users could create courses of that type (or make a request for a course to be created)

in the 2.1 the course-type functionality was removed because there were some issues and the system is being refactored for the 3.0.

I am guessing this functionality was removed along with the course types and will return in the next release when the course-type functionality is re-implemented
