Digital signature for attendance

Postby ThaRaven403 » Mon Jan 16, 2012 7:16 pm

Hi,

I've looked around the manual but haven't found any information regarding this.... Is there a way to have a digital signature for employees to sign off their presence to a course?

What we're trying to do is actually to have people "sign the attendance sheet" of a course, or in another case we'd have document to be read, which the learner would have to sign electronically to prove they read the document.

Is this something that exists, and that I haven't seen in the manual, in chamilo? Or is it something that has been done as a third-party module?

Thanks in advance for any insight,
Bruno

Hi ThaRaven,

This doesn't exist at this point. It is possible to develop it though, if you have a better idea of what digital signature mechanism you want to use. If you are looking for developers to do this, I recommend you send an e-mail at providers@chamilo.org, that way you'll get to all of them at the same time. It might well be into your unspent licenses budget to do have that added to your Chamilo :-)

Thanks for the answer!

We're actually at the point where we check different systems and the features they offer, but I'll remember this should we want to go forward with Chamilo.

Thanks!

Great! Let us know how it all went.
In any case, it is very unlikely that you would get a digital signing feature for assistances (I don't think I've seen that in any LMS so far) for the total cost it would mean to use Chamilo + small dev.

Have fun. If you are allowed to, publishing your comparison results really help us move forward.
