output_buffering off

output_buffering off

Postby oandrade » Thu May 31, 2012 1:28 pm

Hi,
i've got some trouble while trying to install chamilo 2.1.
The installation process asked for output_bufferin set to off but my isp didn't allow that...
Is there any reason to use this php setting in chamilo ? Can i turn around this problem in any way you know (i already tried to set the value in .htaccess and by set_ini function) ?
Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem.

Solved it by adding a .htaccess-file to the main directory of my site.

Use Notepad (or any plain text editor)

Write "php_value output_buffering Off" on a line by it´s own (without the quotes)

Save the file as ".htaccess" (without quotes) and upload it/save it to the Chamilo directory (better save it to the main directory and not the install directory)

At least, this worked fine for me!

Please note that if you already have a .htaccess file in your directory you should edit that one instead of creating a new one. And if you use Notepad you should save the file WITH quotes, since Notepad will add a file extension (.txt) to the filename otherwise.

Hi:

I'm experiencing the same problem. I even contacted my shared hosting provider (Bluehost.com) support team and they verified that the output_buffering is OFF but the installation process shows that is ON. I tried creating the notepad text but still experiencing the same issue.

Any recommendation?

Thanks in advance!
