Course Home Page Error

Postby joyhoffman » Fri Dec 23, 2011 7:33 pm

Hi,

I just started using Chamilo but everytime I select the course the index.php file gives the following error:

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

Now, I looked at the PHP code and this page actually is just an include of the main/course_home/course_home.php file. I opened the file, but I'm not that great at php to debug this.

Has anyone else ever run into this issue?

I uninstalled and reinstalled... see link below

thanks,
Joy

I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling just in case some of the defaults I changed caused the problem... nope... same problem.

Hi Joy,

The problem seems to be a permission to access files on your hosting server.

Try to change those parameters AND create a new course. It suppose to solve your problem:

Alain's solution here worked for me - I had a similar problem with a new install 0f 1.8.8.4 tonight.

My error message:

"Not Found
The requested URL /Chamilo-1.8.8.4/chamilo-1.8.8.4/courses/LETSTRYWITHPERMISSIO/index.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

The permissions I set were the suggested 0755 and 0644.

Many thanks again, Alain!

Please check the decalerd URL; you can see in your las post that there is twice chamilo1.8.8.4 in the path. Is it really the case on your server (which shouldn't)?

Hi,

Like said Coursenligne, your URL address looks very strange.

Don't use dot on it.

What I should suggest to you is to use an URL like this:

URL/chamilo
or
URL/chamilo1884 without dots or any others special character set

Goog luck,

Alain

Hi,

I only want to say that I had the same problem. In my case the solution came when I changed the permission to the values 0755 and 0644 (in both version 1.8.8.4 and 1.9). Thank you for your help!

Regards!!

Hi,

Thanks for your values, in the meantime, this would be a good idea to "capitalize" the settings for different providers, as it seems to be slightly different for each...
