Hello from Orkney (Scotland)

Postby stephanibus » Sat Jan 07, 2012 12:40 am

I should introduce myself - Steve from Orkney in Scotland. I'm just trying out Chamilo with a view to developing courses for teaching English online.

I've had a look at a few LMS packages (including Moodle) but am blown away with Chamilo - seems to be the right way ahead. Enormously impressed by the stance taken on "open-source" principles by the founders - so refreshing in the current economic climate - the world seems a better place for the leadership of people like Yannick Warnier et al.....

As a non developer with a limited technical grasp of things, am looking forward to fuller English documentation soon - would be a big time saver in getting to grips with things, though I must admit the whole package is impressively user friendly to explore without guidelines.

All the best, Chamilo, for 2012.....

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the warm compliments. Documentation in English is available on the website (Support -> Documentation).

It's great to have people from Scotland using Chamilo. I think you're the first who has reported himself.

There is one book in the writing about Chamilo (to be published with PacktPub before the end of the year) and a few videos beings recorded, but we're happy to have native speakers help us out. Let me know if you could put Chamilo to good use.

I didn't realize you lived so far north!

I look forward to working with you the Chamilo documentation.

Kind Regards

Good to know the manual is in good hands (and with Alister you're not alone for this task)..
