Chamilo announces the immediate release of version 1.8.8.4 of its open source LMS. This new version comes with a special focus on stability and a few new features that might be the exact fit to your evolving needs.

Amongst the new features, you will find you can now host a certification center with Chamilo: you can generate certificates with QR codes (mobile phone bar-codes) which will allow anybody to verify the authenticity of a certificate by checking its existence on your online Chamilo campus,from their mobile phone.

You will also find the possibility to export PDF documents of learning paths as student, a free/busy calendar for administrators to check the availability of the staff and a new landing page for exercises to read explanations before you start your timed exam.

For those who use Chamilo mainly as a document sharing tool, you'll find a new and very quick way to navigate through your course documents directly from an icon on your courses list page.

In total, Chamilo also comes bundled with more than 200 hours of stability improvements and a new security fix.

Upgrading from Chamilo 1.8.8.2 to Chamilo 1.8.8.4 is as easy as pasting the code of the 1.8.8.4 package over your previous installation. No upgrade procedure needed.
