Last 11th of May, the Chamilo Association members organized two important events:

• the developers meeting of February, including members of the development teams of Chamilo 1.8 and 2.0
• the foundation meeting, where the Chamilo Association statutes were discussed and signed, establishing at the same time the first board of directors for the association

Here is a quick résumé of what was discussed...

Developers meeting

• Explanation of the plans for 2.0: release beta before July
• Agreement on releasing an alpha on the 9th of June
• Agreement on leaving a few features behind for the beta release in order to have better stability for finished features
• Announcement of the New York conference participation
• Explanation of the roadmap for 1.8 (possibly other releases after 1.8.7, scheduled for the end of May, and before 2.0, scheduled for the end of the year)

Association foundation

• After a quick review of the statutes (that had already been checked previously), the founders signed the papers with the nomination, as the board of directors, of:

• Secretary: Yannick Warnier
• Treasurer: Stefaan Vanbillemont
• Communication Coordinator: Noa Orizales
• Marketing Coordinator: Luk Vanlanduyt
• Development Coordinator: Hans de Bisschop
• Research & Innovation Coordinator: Frederik Questier
• The association already has a bank account to which memberships can be paid
• Members can later become official providers through the provision of one contribution and passing the qualifying exam
